4-alarm fire breaks out in the Bronx, shuts down subway

Firefighters are battling a massive fire in the Bronx this morning.

The fire broke out at about 6:15 a.m. inside a detached garage at 685 E. 225th Street near the Wakefield Metro-North and subway stations, according to the Associated Press. It went to a fourth alarm shortly after.

No injuries were reported.

Service on the 2 and 5 trains have been suspended between 241st Street and Gun Hill Road.

Local residents took to Twitter to post photos of the large plumes of smoke rising from the blaze.
