Riders of the 7 train are bracing again for weekend service cuts. Starting Friday night and continuing for the next 10 weeks, through March, the 7 train will not run between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza. The disruption, scheduled for track improvements, leaves riders in places like Long Island City out in the cold.
“It’s a major inconvenience,” said Chris Daley, a Goldman Sachs investment banker who lives off the Vernon Blvd.-Jackson Ave. stop. Shuttle buses will take riders to the E and N trains, but it’s hardly a solution, some say.
“The last time they did this, I waited almost an hour for the shuttle bus,” said Veronica A., who depends on the 7 to take her from Flushing to her job in Long Island City.
