Sixers are gaining lots of fans due to this season's unexpected success and the new owners commitment.
Last night, the team had attendance of 16,299 in their win over the Orlando Magic, and Fridays game they gained a hometown fan of Will Smith when he attended their win over the Charlotte Bobcats with his wife, Jada and son, Jaden. It was his first game as a part owner of the team.
Now they have gained another superstar's interest, mega rap superstar Lil Wayne, who discussed the Sixers — could it be the Southern rapper's new favorite team? — in his column called "Weezy's Sports Corner." (H/T 700 Level)
In his column he says: "I think they're playing awesome right now ... I think they're gelling, they're a young team. They're coming together and playing out of their mind. Also, they're a young team, so when you're a young team and the person next to you is just as good as you, you feel like, 'We don't care who we going against out there every night. We don't care who's on the other side of the court. We ready for them.'"
Keep up the good work Sixers, maybe someone like President Obama will be the next fan to jump on the growingly crowded bandwagon.
