Former NFL player Aaron Hernandez, who is being held in a Bristol County jail awaiting trial for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd, is facing new charges of assaulting another inmate while behind bars.

According to the Bristol County district attorney's office, on Thursday afternoon a grand jury indicted Hernandez on charges stemming from an assault that occurred inside the Bristol County House of Corrections in Dartmouth on Feb. 25, and an alleged threat made inside the same facility on Nov. 1, 2013.

Hernandez will be arraigned on these new indictments in the Fall River Justice Center on a future date yet to be set by the court.
