A judge yesterday postponed the dangerousness hearing of a Kingston man accused of raping a 3-year-old girl and also denied a defense lawyer’s request for the girl to testify, according to news reports.
Joseph Gardner, 26, will reportedly return for his hearing tomorrow. He is accused of raping the young daughter of a woman he’s been dating as well as threatening the girl to stay quiet about the encounter.
Earlier in the week, Gardner pleaded not guilty at his arraignment and was held without bail. But the case has sparked public outrage because Gardner had already been released on $10,000 bail after being charged with raping another young girl in August.
