A Queens man accused of driving into an East Village bodega while high on drugs last summer has been charged with murder, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

Shaun Martin, 33, allegedly jumped a curb on June 19, driving into a pay phone, tree and muni-meter before crashing into the East Fourth Street bodega and injuring three deli workers, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. One of the workers, Mohammed Akkas Ali, has since died of his injuries.

Authorities said Martin was high on PCP and methamphetamine the morning of the crash. Police had said Martin refused to take a Breathalyzer test and has a record for drunken driving.

Martin's attorney did not immediately return a phone call requesting comment.

He has been charged with murder in the second degree and two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, in addition to 12 other offenses.
