EAST BOSTON. The news that a mother dumped her just-born baby boy in an alley Monday night rocked East Boston residents, particularly mothers who live near the incident.
“I have a kid myself,” said Jessica Ventura, 18. “I was shocked. I came home, hugged my son and kissed him.”
The baby was found on Saratoga St. at about 10 p.m. by two men who live nearby and heard the baby’s cries.
Police located the mother, but have not determined whether charges will be filed. The baby was listed in good condition at Mass General Hospital.
