Three people were arrested and more than 130 grams of heroin was seized during a raid on an alleged drug ring in Andover on Wednesday morning.
Andover police said the raid of the home followed an investigation following reported heroin dealing in the town.
Because police had intelligence that a gun was inside the home, the NEMLEC swat team was used to help serve the search warrant.
Once inside, police found 20 bags of heroin, totaling about 137 grams. They also found a 9mm handgun and more than $24,000. Three people inside the home were arrested on drug and other charges.
"The Andover Police Department dealt a major setback to the drug trade in our region," Police Chief Patrick Keefe said in a statement. "Heroin is a serious problem, affecting nearly every community in the commonwealth, but today Andover has sent a clear message to those looking to sell their poisons on our community: Take your business elsewhere."
