A criminal complaint was filed by one of the two female Archbishop Ryan High School students involved in a cafeteria brawl Friday morning that landed them on YouTube, police said.
According to police, the sophomore, who was only identified as a 16-year-old female, stated the two, “Had a verbal dispute and she was struck in the face.”
In the video, slurs and derogatory accusations escalated into a 4-minute hair-pulling slap match. The brawl ended when a male student wiggled his way between the two. No administrators or educators were seen in the video playing peacemaker.
"Catholic schools are centers of learning where students are expected to treat each other in a Christ-like manner," according to a news release from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Both girls were suspended and further disciplinary action is pending. YouTube removed the video.
