BROCKTON – A Brockton man pleaded not guilty yesterday to setting a fire Monday night to a Plymouth building that housed a federal probation office.

James Dix, 64, told a probation official he violated his parole and wanted to be arrested, saying “Do I have to start a fire and be standing right there to get your attention,” according to the Globe.
The fire caused $500,000 in damages.
