Artifacts 2,500 years old found

MERCER COUNTY – Several precisely dug holes in a nondescript wooded area along Route 29 just south of the Scudder Falls bridge in Ewing, N.J., have turned up Native American artifacts that may be as old as 2,500 years, according to reports.

Archeologists working as part of a bridge expansion project connecting New Jersey and Pennsylvania with Interstate 95 over the Delaware River say they have found remains like primitive tools and pottery. A dig on River Road in Bucks County will begin soon.
