Police have charged 20-year-old Samuel Jones, of Germantown, with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his 7-month-old son in the head.
A man accused of stabbing of a 7-month-old child Friday afternoon during an East Germantown domestic dispute now faces attempted murder charges in connection with the case.
Investigators said the infant's father, 20-year-old Samuel Jones, was fighting with the child's mother inside a home on the 6200 block of Chew Avenue shortly before 2:30 p.m.
During the course of the altercation, Jones allegedly stabbed his baby son in the head.
Police said the parents drove the child to Albert Einstein Medical Center. He was transferred by medics to Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children, where he remains in critical condition.
Jones, of the 500 block of west King Street, was arrested yesterday and arraigned around 4:30 p.m.
He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment, according to court documents.
Jones is currently jailed in lieu of 10 percent of $500,000 bail. He is next due in court for a preliminary hearing on May 1.
