Doto was reportedly sitting in a lawn chair on the sidewalk watching a neighbor's 7-year-old child on Adams Ave near Griscom Street when gunfire erupted a block away.
A bullet struck Doto. She was rushed to Temple Hospital where surgery was performed to deliver her baby. Doto was reportedly full-term pregnant and her baby was due in a month.
She was pronounced dead at 12:36 p.m. Sunday. Her baby was delivered but died overnight.
Doto had posted pictures of her mammogram and pregnant stomach on Facebook, as well as saying she planned to name the baby, a boy, Carmine Joseph.
Police reportedly took three men, including the target of the shooting, into custody for questioning.
No arrests have been reported and no gun has been recovered.
Police reported Sunday that they were searching for a late model white Ford Crown Victoria or Chevy Impala with tinted windows which the shooter may have used to flee the scene.
