The first Pennsylvania Bacon Festival, set to be brought to Philadelphia in five days by the American Loves Bacon Team, has been postponed until October, according to the group.
A message on their website reads:
The Pennsylvania Bacon Festival is being postponed until October 2014. After careful consideration and logistical meetings on site, we’ve realized we cannot produce the quality event we want to produce with the space constraints of the site. We are currently in negotiations with a new larger venue, also in Philadelphia, and we expect to have the new date and location announced byMonday May 12.If you have already purchased a ticket for theMay 10event, your ticket will still be valid for the new date. If you would prefer a refund please contact Ticketfly at your earliest convenience.
We apologize for the inconvenience,
The America Loves Bacon Team
People on Facebook are not too pleased. Several commenters say they never got an email alerting them of the postponement (Editor's note: I received one from Ticketfly, but neveractually bought tickets in the first place.) which was sent out early Monday morning. Several people are complaining they not already purchased VIP tickets (which are refundable through Ticketfly) but booked hotel rooms, took off work and are traveling for the event.
The festival was set for May 10 at the Piazza at Schmidt's and was slated to feature more than 30 restaurants and food trucks, live music and more.
A Facebook message sent to the event page and an email to the America Loves Bacon Team has not yet been returned to Metro.
