Battle over outdoor boozing

What’s better than an ice-cold beer? An ice-cold beer al fresco.

And the best place for boozing outdoors is Birreria, chef Mario Batali’s beer garden located above Flatiron-newcomer Eataly, according to a survey from HopStop.

HopStop compiled a list of 32 beer gardens in the city and then calculated how many times New Yorkers searched for directions to or from the locations.

Birreria was the most-searched beer garden in the city, according to HopStop, followed by The Standard Biergarten in the West Village and Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club on the South Street Seaport.

“We wanted to figure out which local beer gardens and hotel rooftop bars were drawing the biggest crowds this summer,” read a blog post on HopStop.

“We are the only ones that brew our beers on the roof,” said Luca Vesnaver, a manager of Birreria.

Manhattan-based beer gardens represented six of the top 10 spots, but Queens and Brooklyn staples like Bohemian Hall and Radegast also ranked within the top ten.
