Bensalem woman leaves kids behind after DUI crash: Police

The woman crashed into two parked cars in Bristol about 8 p.m., then fled the scene on foot, leaving her 6- and 18-month-old children in the damaged car.

A Bensalem woman allegedly abandoned her young children after crashing her car while driving drunk Saturday night.

The woman, identified in the Bucks County Courier Times as 34-year-old Jamie Lynn Wilkinson,crashed into two parked cars in Bristol, on the 1000 block of Chestnut Street, about 8 p.m., according to authorities. She then fled the scene on foot, leaving her 6- and 18-month-old children in the damaged car.

Wilkinsonfaces charges of driving under the influence, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment, accidents to unattended vehicles and related offenses. She was sent to the Bucks County prison on $500,000 bail after being arraigned early Sunday.
