Bill Cosby will host a concert on Aug. 14 at the Independence Visitors Center to help fund Temple University's men's gymnastics program that was cut in December.

The show is intended to raise money for the sport, which was cut along with seven others by the university's Board of Trustees on Dec. 6, 2013. The cuts went into effect July 1.

Functioning now as a club sport, the gymnastics program will support itself with donations. Cosby, who will be on stage from7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.is helping to raise money for the endowment to help supplement the program's costs.

Some tickets are still available for the event, which will also feature a cocktail hour, silent auction and meet and greet with Cosby, but only for premium ticket holders. Prices range from $175 to $300. Click here for more details.

The gymnastics program earned multiple individual and team accolades and has produced three Olympic athletes and two Olympic coaches in its 88-year history.
