Bomb scare causes temporary Boylston Street shut down

A bag that was left unattended on Boylston Street this morning led to a temporary shut down of the area between Arlington and Berkeley Streets, officials said.

A bag that was left unattended on Boylston Street this morning led to a temporary shut down of the area between Arlington and Berkeley Streets, officials said.

The bag was discovered under a mailbox around 9 a.m., and prompted an investigation by bomb technicians. The package was removed, and police later said the bag did not pose danger.

In April, during the Boston Marathon, Boylston Street was the site of a twin bombing that killed three people and injured 264 others.
