A bomb threat has closed Winchester High School for the day.

The threat, emailed to an administrator around 5:15 a.m., was nonspecific in its nature but school was cancelled out of an “abundance of caution,” said Winchester Police spokesman John Guilfoil.

Police, said Guilfoil, are searching the school and the campus. An investigation is ongoing.

The closure comes after a trio of schools received bomb threats last week. Schools in Swampscott and Bedford, Mass. as well as Bedford, N.H. all had to cancel classes following the threats.
