The Boston Bandits will play The Merrimack Valley Pride in honor of fallen teammate Odin Lloyd, who prosecutors allege was murdered by former New England Patriots tight end, Aaron Hernandez.

Lloyd, 27, played for the Boston-based football team before he was found dead in an industrial complex just a mile from Hernandez’s North Attleborough home on June 17.

The team released a statement Monday that said the game will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 at Madison Park High School in Roxbury, "in the memory of our fallen teammate, Odin Lloyd. Thank you for your support."

The semi-professional footballer was also dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee.

Hernandez is being held without bail, and is due in Fall River Superior Court Friday, just hours before the game.
