A free app released last week will list arts and events going on during this year’s Boston First Nightcelebration, giving partiers a quick way to find their favorite holiday happenings.

“We’re thrilled to have this useful tool available for visitors to this year’s First Night,” Mayor Thomas Menino said in an emailed statement. “We’re grateful to Sparkline Digital for creating the app and having it ready prior to the event.”

According to creators, the app will make it easier for attendees to quickly access event information in real time, and help them navigate First Night’s rich array of cultural and artistic offerings.

“The Sparkline team is excited to have created First Night’s first ever mobile app,” said Michael McCay, COO of Sparkline Digital. “As a company headquartered in Boston, Sparkline is especially proud to support the city’s efforts in continuing Boston’s First Night tradition.”

The First Night app may be downloaded from both Apple and Google app stores.
