A. J. Pierzynski will not be the only new thing coming to Fenway Park next season.

Aluminum and plastic beer bottles and expanded liquor concessions are coming to Fenway.

The Boston Licensing Board on Thursday granted the requests by Fenway officials to change the stadium’s alcohol regulations, the board said.A Licensing staff member said the board voted 2-0 to approve of the changes. Board member Suzanne Iannella recused herself from the vote.

On Wednesday, officials from Fenway Park appeared before the board to request multiple changes to their alcohol regulations.

Park officials requested to serve beer in lightweight aluminum and plastic bottles, in addition to increasing the number of concession stands where liquor is available and expanding all alcohol sales until the end of the seventh inning, rather than a set time limit. Also, with more non-baseball events taking place at Fenway, officials want to sell alcohol on Yawkey Way during all events, rather than just during Red Sox games.
