Mayor Thomas Menino may not be looking forward to Friday, when he's scheduled to have prostate surgery, but he sure seems to be enjoying today.

Menino's office tweeted pictures of him with Harvard President Drew Faust before Thursday's ceremony and also of him at a dinner Wednesday night with Winfrey. Menino, who was awarded a doctor of laws honorary degree, said he was "honored" to be at Harvard's commencement.
Before becoming mayor, Menino dropped out of Boston College night school. He eventually earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston at age 45.
Menino, 70, was expected to have surgery Friday on his enlarged prostate. His doctor told the Globe that it is not cancerous.
