Boston Police stopped searching for a reportedly naked woman at Jamaica Pond hours after people reported seeing her enter the water.

Witnesses told police they saw a woman enter the water near the Brookline line late Saturday night., prompting police and firefighters to scour the area.

The search was suspended around 3:30 a.m. after crews were unable to locate a body in the pond., a Boston Police spokeswoman said Sunday, and there were no plans to resume the investigation.

"Somebody saw someone, possibly a female, going into the water," a spokeswoman said.

When asked if the woman jumped in the water, the spokeswoman said, "The woman went into the water… I don't think she was going for a swim. We haven't found anyone. We're not sure what happened at this point."
