An NYPD investigation in underway after a 10-year-old girl was found dead inside a Bronx apartment building Sunday.
Hawa Cisse was found by her mother around 11:25 p.m., unconscious and not breathing. There was no bruising or signs of trauma, cops said.Cisse was transported to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Her mother told police Cisse was sick and had a history of seizures.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, but a preliminary investigation shows no signs of foul play or maltreatment. The family had no history ofdomestic incident reports or involvement withthe Administration of Child Services.
The investigation is ongoing.
