A Brooklyn teacher was arrested for having sex with a 15-year-old student, according to the office of Special Commissioner of Investigation Richard J. Condon.
Evelyn Rogers, 33, of the High School for Innovation in Advertising and Media in Canarsie, has been charged with rape in the third degree after investigators discovered that she engaged in a sexual relationship with a male student that began when he was 15 years old. The student is now 16 years old.
Rogers also faces charges of criminal sexual acts and sexual abuse, the New York Post reports.
The Department of Education is seeking to fire Rogers, a special-education teacher whose salary is $54,000, according to the Post.
