BU cancels abroad classes

Citing safety concerns, Boston University officials canceled the university’s spring-semester study-abroad program in Niger.

The move to stop the decades-old program came after two Frenchmen were abducted and killed at a cafe popular with BU students studying in the African country, according to BU Today.

The U.S. State Department issued a travel warning to the country after the incident this month.
