BU officers on motorcycles struck by car, injured

An investigation is underway after two Boston University police officers on motorcycles struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon.

An investigation is underway after two Boston University police officers on motorcycles were struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon.

A BU police spokesperson said the officers were injured after they were hit at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Agganis Way around 2 p.m.

According to a report by The Boston Globe, the officers were assigned to the Matriculation Walk, a university activity that invites students from the class of 2017 to walk as a group from their dormitories to Agganis Arena for an official matriculation ceremony with classmates and parents.

Both officers were transported to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries, where they were treated and released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, although thedriver stayed at the scene following the crash.
