Bucks County apartment fire set to hide stabbing of mother, daughter

A pregnant woman and her 4-year-old daughter were stabbed before a Bucks County apartment was set on fire to cover up the gruesome crime.

Firefighters found the bodies of 22-year-old Ebony Talley and 4-year-old R'mani Rankins inside the Avalon Court Apartments home on the 3500 block of Bristol Oxford Valley Road in Bristol Township shortly after the fire broke out about 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say the fire was set to cover up the stabbings, 6ABC Action News reports.

Family members told Action News that Talley was seven months pregnant.

The American Red Cross was providing assistance to six Avalon Court residents displaced by the arson.
