Bucks County fire kills husband, wife

A fire in Middletown Township, Bucks County, on Tuesday night killed a husband and wife.

The flames were sparked about 8:20 p.m. inside the couple's home on the 300 block of Elmwood Avenue in Middletown Township, Bucks County, 6ABC Action News reported. A 66-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his 65-year-old wife died from her injuries at St. Mary's Medical Center.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. It appears the deadly blaze, which took firefighters about a half-hour to bring under control, started in the home's basement.
