Two Spanish tourists were seriously injured after being hit by a bus while crossing a street in Hell's Kitchen on Monday morning, officials said.
A 62-year-old woman and her niece, 50, were crossing West 47th Street when they were hit by a private bus making a left turn from Tenth Avenue just before 8 a.m., police said.
The Trans-Bridge Lines bus pinned the 62-year-old and she was in critical condition, police said. Both women suffered leg injuries and were taken to local hospitals, but they are expected to be OK.
The women were scheduled to leave the city Tuesday, police said.
The bus, which was empty, was being driven to a parking facility at the time, according to a spokesman for Trans-Bridge Lines. The driver is a 10-year veteran of the company, which services parts of the city, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
