A Camden mother and her boyfriend have been charged with chaining the woman's 10-year-old son to a radiator day and night for up to two weeks.

Florence Pollard, 31, and her boyfriend, Brian L. Craig, 29, of Blackwood, locked the young boy by his ankles to a radiator in a bedroom in Pollard's East Camden home, with his hands sometimes restrained by zip ties, the Courier-Post reports.

The boy escaped and ran away from the Cramer Street home Monday, when his mother reported him missing. He told authorities about what he had endured when he was picked up a short time later.

Pollard and Craig have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal restraint. Each was being held at Camden County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Five other children were removed from the home and turned over to the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency.
