The builders behind Canstruction clearly were never told not to play with their food.
This year, employees from 26 design and architecture firms throughout the city participated in the 19th annual Canstruction Exhibit. Using more than 100,000 donated cans of food, they built gigantic, gravity-defying sculptures, include replicas of Alexander McQueen’s famous Lady Gaga shoes, Angry Birds, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
The exhibit, now on display at the World Financial Center, is free and open to the public through November 21st.
After the 21st, the sculptures will be taken down and the cans will be donated to local food programs through City Harvest -- just in time for Thanksgiving.
