Car collides with train

BROCKTON – A 91-year-old Brockton woman was recovering after the car she was driving collided with a commuter rail train in Avon on Thursday.

Transit officials said it was not clear how the car ended up on the tracks when the Boston-bound train from Middleboro was crossing the intersection just before noon.

The warning gates were in the down position, officials said.

There were no life-threatening injuries.
