Two men are wanted for questioning by the Pennsylvania SPCA after an eyewitness said she saw them near a cat who was running down the street on fire.
The witness saw the cat on Third Street toward Wellens Avenue in Olney around 9:25 a.m. Sunday. Near the intersection, the witness saw two men and heard one of them say "I put a lot of fluid on it."
The two men are described as tall, thin, black or Latino, and in their early- to mid-20s. One was wearing a red hoodie and the other a gray hoodie.
A local store's surveillance camera captured the two alleged suspects on tape. A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
The cat, a male, suffered severe burns and is being treated at the shelter hospital. Authorities identified the cat through a microchip as belonging to a family who lived 10 blocks away and had reported the cat missing over the summer.
Anyone who recognizes the individuals in the tape is encouraged to call the Pennsylvania SPCA Humane Law Enforcement team at 866-601-SPCA.
