The attorney for Catherine Greig has field an appeal, just one day after the 61-year-old was sentenced to prison.
Kevin Reddington filed a claim of appeal today, according to court filings.
The one paragraph appeal states that Greig claims "an appeal of the above captioned conviction to the United States District Court of Appeals."
Greig, the girlfriend of alleged fugitive mob boss James "Whitey" Bulger, was sentenced yesterday to eight years in prison after she pleaded guilty to harboring and identity fraud charges earlier this year.
When asked by a reporter yesterday if they planned to appeal, Reddington replied "probably not."
Reddington was not available when a reporter called his office.
