A WCBS-TV news anchor was arrested on Sunday for allegedly choking his wife during an argument at their Connecticut home.
Rob Morrison was charged with strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct, the New York Times reported. He was released on $100,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Stamford, Conn. on Tuesday.
He and his wife, Ashley Morrison, a CBS MoneyWatch reporter, have released a statement saying they believe the charges are "greatly exaggerated."
Police arrived at the couple's home in Darien, Conn. early Sunday morning after receiving a call from Ashley Morrison's mother. Police said it appeared that Morrison became aggressive during an argument and choked his wife with both hands.
Ashley Robinson was not treated for any injuries but had red marks on her neck from the choking.
