You apparently don’t have to be in Sochi to get your snowboarding fix.

Some of New England’s best snowboarders will put on demonstrations at a pop-up snowboard park that will appear in Central Square Wednesday night.

Shredding commences in front of the Middle East between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Brookline Street.

The Central Square Cultural District is hosting the House of Vans Snow Board Park as part of its “Snochi Festival” that features free events during February vacation week. That means that Brookline Street between Massachusetts Avenue and Green Street will be closed until 3 p.m. Thursday.

As part of the festival, concerts are taking place at the Middle East through Thursday night.
