Phillies announcers Chris Wheeler and Gary Matthews have been let go, according to multiple reports including the Associated Press.
Wheeler, who broadcasted alongside now deceased Harry Kalas and current announcer Tom McCarthy, has been with the organization for about 40 years. Matthews served as a color analyst for about seven years with the Phillies on television and radio.
The Phillies have yet to announce the move and the Associated Press is reporting on the condition of anonymity, they said. The decision to replace the two broadcasters allegedly came from the network.
