Christian Louboutin, renowned fashion designer, is fighting to protect what his says is his signature style of red-soled shoes in court.
Louboutin is trying to block Yves Saint Laurant from selling shoes that sport a similar sole, arguing that the particular color and placement on a shoe is his design, and his alone.
A Manhattan judge turned down Louboutin’s claim in August, saying that a color can’t be trademarked, but Louboutin is trying to appeal that decision, according to the New York Post.
