Officials on Tuesday morning announced $2.5 million in renovations to 11th & Cecil B. Moore Avenue Field, home to the 2010 Pop Warner national football champions, the Blackhawks.
The grass football field will be replaced with new artificial turf.New field goal posts and a scoreboard will be installed, as well as new paving, fencing and landscaping. The baseball field in the Southeast corner of the lot will also be renovated, along with the restrooms and lockers rooms.

The fields will be shared between the Blackhawks and St. Joe's Prep High School.
The restoration is part of a partnership between the City of Philadelphia, St. Joseph’s Prep, Philadelphia Local Initiatives Support Corporation and the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Through their hard work, the Blackhawks players, coaches, parents and community have earned the restoration of this field," Mayor Michael Nutter said.
