City Hall Plaza to heat up with ‘Caliente!’ festival

The city will celebrate the Latino culture and community tomorrow night at City Hall Plaza with the fifth annual “Caliente!” festival.

“Caliente! is a joyful celebration of Boston’s vibrant Latino community and culture,” said Mayor Thomas M. Menino. A spokesman for the festival said it has emerged as a major cultural event for the Latino community in Boston.

For the past two years, Caliente! has attracted over 25,000 people to the plaza.

Salsero musician Willie Colón will headline the event, which kicks off at 6 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m.

The public party is put on by the mayor’s office, Liberty Mutual Insurance, and Telemundo WNEU Boston.
