Flying debris from the Bruce Ratner-owned, Frank Gehry-designed Beekman Tower damaged more than one car during Monday’s wind and rainstorm.
James Chmiel said he was in his Ford Expedition at Nassau and Beekman street just before 7 a.m. when “I heard a loud smack. The car shook and it felt like someone hit me from behind.”
A turnbuckle from the 77-story building skewered his hood, he said. Chmiel said he’s planning to sue.
“Another 18 inches and it would have gone through my windshield,” said Chmiel. “I’m personally inviting Mr. Bruce Ratner to take it out.”
