Commuters stranded in tunnel

Thousands of NJ Transit commuters were stuck in a tunnel leading into Penn Station for hours this morning after trains lost electricity.

Four Manhattan-bound NJ Transit trains became disabled around 9 a.m., in the middle of morning rush hour.

The 2,000 passengers were evacuated from the tunnel after two hours, at around 11 a.m.

Other NJ Transit trains coming in and out of Penn Station were still delayed up to 45 minutes, according to the New York Post.
