A hero Con Ed worker helped evacuate a burning building and saved the life of a woman who helped him spread the alarm.
Jose Morales was working to restore power in Williamsburg when the fire started at 198 Wilson St. early Thursday. Morales, Con Ed worker Michael Ford and resident Carmen Russo, 55, rushed to rouse tenants. Russo was overcome by smoke and had a heart attack after she and Morales became trapped on the roof. Morales got her heart beating with CPR as Ford directed firefighters to them. Russo was hospitalized in a coma but expected to recover, the New York Post reported.
