A construction worker on the job Monday in East Boston was killed by a 12,000-pound steel beam.
The victim was identified asMarco Antonio Huezo Mancea, 46,who works for Boston Bridge & Steel Inc. Mancea was declared dead on the scene.

“It’s very time-consuming to safely move [the steel] with as much dignity as we can for the victim,” MacDonald told the Globe.
Because the company is on Massport property, the accident is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police.
Just last week, another construction worker was killed while on the job in Boston. The victim was fatally injured by a scissor lift at a site in Downtown Crossing, and was later brought to Tufts New England Medical Center, the Globe reported.
