An NYPD officer was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crime after he allegedly hit an elderly woman with his car.
According to the police department, around 7 a.m. today, Michael Fantroy, 42, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
Officials said Fantroy hit an elderly woman with his car April 15. Prosecutors say he went through a stop sign in Hollis, and he ran over the woman but kept going.
DNAinfo reports that the woman, 82, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Internal Affairs Bureau cops tracked him down after a witness gave them a license plate number.
