Cop saves cargo ship captain in cardiac arrest

Police rushed to the rescue Tuesday night when the captain of a Panamian cargo ship anchored in New York Harbor had a heart attack.

NYPD Harbor and a tactical medic Detective Robert Brager deployed to the ship, where Brager stabilized the captain onboard.

An NYPD helicopter airlifted the captain and Brager to Staten Island University Hospital, where the captain, a 60-year-old Egyptian named Aly Akl, is now in stable condition.
