Cops arrest man for fatal stabbing after T bus ride

A 21-year-old Boston man was arrested this morning for allegedly fatally stabbing another man after the two became involved in an argument while riding an MBTA bus in Roxbury.

Jahvon Goodwin will be arraigned this afternoon in Roxbury District Court on a charge of murder, police said.

The courthouse is within sight of where the deadly fight took place Aug. 15.

Authorities said Goodwin and 24-year-old Rashad Lesley-Barnes of Dorchester were riding a Route 23 bus that afternoon and became involved in some sort of argument.

When the men got off of the bus, Goodwin allegedly stabbed Lesley-Barnes multiple times.

Police said they were led to Goodwin after they received information and conducting interviews.

Police also thanked community members for their assistance in the arrest.

“Commissioner [Ed] Davis also thanks members of the community for coming forward with tips and information which helped make the difference in this case,” police said.
