A Bucks County woman has been charged with buying synthetic marijuana for teenagers and allowing them to smoke the substance in her presence.
Northampton police arrested Deborah Kiernicki, 42, on Wednesday on charges alleging she drove teenagers to Tobacco Leaf, on State Street, to buy the synthetic pot, the Bucks County Courier-Times reports. She also reportedly provided the teens with beer in exchange for gas money.
Northampton and Newtown police raided the Northampton Tobacco Leaf store on Wednesday after receiving reports area teens had become violently ill after smoking synthetic pot sold there.
Charges are pending against the store’s owners, police told the paper.
Police seized about 300 packets of the synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia, including 177 pipes, 21 marijuana grinders and 70 scales, while executing a search warrant Wednesday.
Authorities did not shut down the Northampton business following Wednesday’s raid.
Kiernicki is charged with corrupting the morals of minors and purchasing alcohol for minors. She was lodged in the Bucks County jail on $50,000 bail.
